Production Sound (Clarkson University)

Jason Ryan Creative • ESPN • 2025

an ESPN E60 special in which Jeremy Schaap investigates how the era of amateur college athletics has transformed into a high-stakes landscape driven by athlete compensation, NIL deals, and unrestricted transfer mobility.

How we helped

James June Media provided on-location production sound for interview and game-day segments featuring Clarkson University’s men’s hockey program.

This included capturing clean, intimate interviews with the Athletic Director and head coach, as well as wiring the coach during live gameplay to record authentic, unscripted moments. Additional behind-the-scenes audio was captured in the locker room and bench area, preserving the natural rhythm, emotion, and immediacy of the team’s environment. The result was immersive, story-driven sound that brought viewers closer to the people and moments shaping the program.
